River House on the Prairie

I spent a week at the Whiterock Conservancy as an artist in residence, where I had the privileged to be inspired by the elements, and natural landscape around me. Each section is a motif based on what I saw and heard including the prairie, Coon Rapids, burr oak savannas, spring bird calls and peepers, barred rock owls, and the fires used to make healthy oaks and prairies survive.

Podcast Underscoring

AgArts podcaster and podcast host, Mary Swander, tells the star gazing story approach with her Amish neighbors. I composed and recorded the underscore from 1:14- 5:04, using horn and synthesizer to emulate celestial tones.

Horn and Nature

While studying and writing music, I was inspired by the natural sounds at Whiterock Conservancy in western Iowa. Across the yard and into the meadowlands, there were plenty of songs being sung in praise of the warmer weather. More sections to come!

Horn and Nature

This is a short part of my composition for horn and nature accompaniment, featuring sounds gathered during the spring months in western Iowa marshes. The spring peepers, or frogs, were just starting to awaken from a very long winter. What a fun beat they provided!

Hide and Seek Arrangement for 6 Horns

My first horn ensemble arrangement, inspired by events of the pandemic in March of 2020. Everything is arranged, recorded, and performed by myself. I thoroughly enjoy Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap, and I hope you enjoy this rendition!
